Socks and Sandals

It’s just a brief newsletter and blog this week.

I have been remembering how much I love drawing, just doing that and not painting for a while. Now I’m ready for both again and I’m enjoying returning to the challenge of colour.

This week, as promised, I have made a painting from the sock and sandal drawing, seen last week.

Next weekend I am doing a course at West Dean College with an artist whose work I admire, Amy Dury: Contemporary Oil Painting from an Ancestral Photograph.

In preparation, I am finding some interesting old family photos and considering how I might crop them.
